Pulimurugan Does The Impossible Possible.
At a time when a 2 Crore is really tough and a 3 Crore is rarest of the rare in the Kochi multiplexes Pulimurugan has walked past 4 Crore mark comfortably. The film which released for the October 1st weekhas crossed 4 Crore gross mark by today, noon shows, i.e. on its 60th day.
The film didn’t get as much as screens to its potential in its initial weeks due to too many films, but the occupancy levels were breathtaking forcing them to add more shows on coming weeks. After becoming one of the fastest to cross 1 crore Mark, it comfortably broke all the existing records here, in Kochi plexes for the fastest 2 Crore grosser, 3 Crore grosser etc. By today it has finally gone past 4 Cr which no films in the history of Kochi plexes have achieved. So far the highest was Hollywood flick The Jungle Book which released in this year’s summer. Its 3.75 Cr gross looked impossible to break anytime soon, but Pulimurugan has taken away that belief with its super strong performance here. The next best for any Malayalam film is Nivin Pauly starrer Jacobinte Swargarajyam which also released for the summer gone by. Pulimurugan has earned a share more than 1.5 Crore from here itself, despite least ratio for the distributor. It is still doing well onthe weekends and it might add few more lakhs, say a 20 or so before it wind up its business. With this it has put almost all benchmarks for the future films which is definitely almost impossible for a couple of years from now unless a film of this hype happens.
