Pulimurugan Opening Day Collection.

Mohanlal’s biggest release in years is here in the form of ‘Pulimurugan’ and the result is known. The Vysakh directed film has taken a record opening as expected. ‘Pulimurugan’ has been in the news for many reasons in the past due to its great technical team from director Vysakh to action director Peter Hein and the outcome has seen the result both on box office and appreciations. The opening day gross of the film has come around a humongous 3.88 Crore and yeah, that is a record by miles as it beat Mammootty’s Eid film ‘Kasaba’s record of 2.43 Crore. It was a battle of Mammootty and Mohanlal yesterday as both of their films released on same day after a gap and although it is unfair to compare both the film from ground levels due to its genre and size, the occupancy range of Pulimurgan was earth shattering from early fans shows itself. Trvandrum belt has been Mohanlal’s fort from years and this time too it rocked here the best when compared to other stations. The makers grabbed as much as screens, they can on the first day and that has been the biggest advantage for the movie. Mohanlal’s fan base made sure the rest as they welcomed him with both hands. The recent success of Oppam is another factor which made fan’s more excited about their hero’s mass avatar resulting in this massive number. In the recent past Mohanlal films couldn’t maintain the same level of occupancies in Malabar area whencompared to the South and Central belts, but Pulimurgan has bridged that as it went on to take excellent occupancies there too. The films 1st day share is said to be around 1.86 Crore and that is also huge. It is the second biggest grosser in the state after Kabali now, whichmade more than 4 Cr with the help of more number of shows. This is what a big film of Mohanlal do in the state when released with enough hype. Now a record which is tough to be beaten by Mohanlal himself anytime soon.

Gross : 3.88 Crore [Kerala]
Verdict :- All Time Record.
