Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal

Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal

Overview

Cine Shore Rating:
2.5 High on hype, low on substance.

Plot : Aby (Dileep) is all set to enter wedlock. He decides to have a bachelor party a week before his marriage. All his close friends are invited. What happens during the party and the consequences thereafter is what the film is all about.

Performances : Dileep does a decent job as Aby. This isn’t a typical role of his with doses of slapstick comedy. It is a role that several layers of romance and situational humor all of which is handled well by him. He looks good too. Rima Kallingal and Murali Gopy also chip in with solid performances. Rest of the cast are okay.

Technical Side : The script is the biggest drawback of the film as there isn’t a strong screenplay involved. Lal Jose isn’t able to weave his magic due to the flaws in the script. The music which is usually another strength of Lal Jose films is a let down. The humor has been well handled especially in the first half which is okayish. Post-interval the screenplay becomes inconsistent with an average climax.

Analysis : Overall, Ezhu Sundara Ratrikal doesn’t live up to its huge expectations and disappoints big time. The first half shapes up well with good moments but the 2nd half is weak. A better script could have done wonders to the film.
