Yet Another Record For Pulimurgan.

Kochi multiplexes has been strong performers for Mohanlal and his latest record breaker Pulimurugan has set a benchmark here. The film has become the fastest 1 Crore grosser among Malayalam films at Kochi multiplexes which was held by Dulquer Salmaans 2015 film Charlie. While Charlie crossed the mark in 9 days, Pulimurugan just took 8 days, that too with less number of shows and a Hartal which hampered it to an extent. There has been many films crossing 1 Crore mark here, but how fast is one big question. The trend here suggests that there should be some sort of hype for the movie in order get a good opening in multiplexes and Pulimurugan came with the biggest hype among the recent movies. The encouraging word of mouth, just made sure that there is no stopping for the film which registered never before occupancies here. Usually its Dulquer Salmaan movies, which opens best in this category as most of his films comes up with great buzz. Moreover he does films which caters most to the multiplex audience. Coming back to Pulimurugan, multiple releases like Thoppil Joppan, Kavi Uddeshichath..?, Remo, Devi etc resulted in limited number of shows for the Mohanlal starrer and the numbers would have been even great if not for that.

N.B : When you take into consideration other languages too, it is Superstar Rajini’s Kabali which tops the entire list as it took just 6 days to cross the 1 crore mark.

In coming days Pulimurugan will own more records here as it has entered the second week very strongly with steady occupancy levels and has also retained good number of shows.
