Time for Dulquer to have a makeover?

time-for-dulquer-to-have-a-makeoverDulquer Salmaan arrived in 2012 rather silently considering that he was a star-son. His debut film was the youthful ‘Second Show’ that had a debut director as well as several debutant co-stars. He kept the start as simple, and it worked big time. Then Anwar Rasheed’s Ustad Hotel happened, a film that gave him huge success commercially as well as critically. He had totally arrived! Dulquer has done a lot of films since then with many of the films having him as the cool-dude with an attitude that he has pulled off really well too!

His efforts for a variety in Anchu Sundarikal and Theevram were appreciated as well but is now in a precarious situation after 2 consecutive debacles in Pattom Pole and Salala Mobiles. Dulquer’s attempt in commercial films has been to focus a lot on style and attitude, but it seems like a makeover is needed at the moment for him. He is the darling of the family audiences among the youth stars and has a huge section of the lady audiences as his fans too. But what next for him as an actor and hero??

Dulquer is yet to do a fully blown masala potboiler or a hardcore action entertainer which we feel should be his next target. Why?? Well, for a start, the lad is blessed with superb looks that is in his genes. He also has the attitude to be a mass-hero too with his subtle dancing skills ensuring that he can carry off some stylish dance sequences too! He is tall and decently built too though not as chiseled as a Prithviraj or Unni Mukundan but still good enough to do good stunts as well. Moreover, the audiences have seen a lot of Dulquer as the chocolate boy next door and the rockstar attitude guy in him too. So, it is time that he tried to change his image a bit and we hope he tries a mass/action avatar soon as doing monotonous attitude roles could lead to him being typecast!
