Pathemari has become a sleeper hit in the box office after a below par opening. The film actually didn’t had much scope in box office prior to its release due to its offbeat label. But the encouraging reports and strategical release by Eros did help in getting the much needed numbers. Once again, it was the Malabar area which contributed the most as it is more relatable to them. When it looked like to finish around 6 crore, the film was released in more centres on its 4th week where it performed well in selective areas, thus making a total gross of 8.10 crore after its 52nd day. With that Pathemari will become the highest grosser in this genre which is very much limited in the box office.
